Luthier workshop tools at the Tsiorba Shop

UPDATE 10/17

The original posting was made two years ago. While the studio is no longer “new” to me, I enjoy working here, and feel settled in by now. If you would like to visit, and play guitars, or discuss repairs, please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

New guitar studio address: 4509 SE 23rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97202

Hello SE 23rd Avenue shop. Even though I just arrived, I already like your welcome. Plenty of parking. Light, airy work space. Soothing rumble of trains in the railroad yard a stone’s throw from my building. A very short commute….mere 20 minutes on foot!

Goodbye Towne Storage Building. I enjoyed my year-and-a-half stint in my studio along your southern wall. Just when I thought I settled-in, big town investors came in, and told us to pack up. And so we did.

I will miss your stately 100-year old brickwork and giant Doug Fir beams. The soaring 14-ft. ceilings and towering windows. It’s been a pleasure building guitars within your walls. So long, and all best to you with the upcoming remodels and upgrades. I hope your new tenants and owners treat you well.

  1. Very nice work space, sure to inspire your creative talents! You are very lucky for what you do. The guitar you crafted for me surprises me every time I play. Thank you for your efforts.

  2. Hi Peter:
Much success in your new workspace.
Things happen for a reason and maybe this may be your time to expand and grow starting over in a new workspace.

    Sincerely

    Thomas August
